A cherished Japanese Buddhist custom has become one of Hawaii’s most celebrated traditions and part of our local values across the islands.

Each year, between the months of June and August, Obon festivals across the globe gather communities together in order to honor the spirits of their ancestors.

And, as a kaiāulu or community builder, we know that a strong community is represented by members of all generations while honoring our past. What’s your favorite bon dance on your island?
